Personal Work
Below is a selection of posters, branding, and other personal projects from my time at college up to the present day working as a graphic designer. One of my favorite creative pastimes is developing alternative posters for some of my favorite pieces of media. This allows me to experiment with composition and visual style.

- Senior Capstone Project: My Grandfather's Legacy -
Spring 2021
Raymond Mur is my grandfather. He's a survivor of World War II, an immigrant to the United States, a veteran of the Korean War, a dedicated businessman, and a man with a loving and ever-growing family.
Over the course of my final college semester, I wanted to present the rich story of my grandfather's life and how he got to where he is today. To do this, I did a combination of historical research, recorded family stories, and sifted through hundreds of family photographs to create a series of collaged posters. To finish off the project, I wanted to create a unique viewing experience beyond that of static posters. My solution became lenticular imagery. A lenticular is a specially printed series of images under curved lenses that create the illusion of depth or movement when seen from different angles. Using this method I was able to create a powerful visual narrative that shows the movement of time through Ray's life while actually moving with the viewer.
The first poster encompasses Ray's tumultuous childhood and early adulthood. I wanted this poster to capture the cold, dower nature of growing up in the middle of a war-torn France, as well as the role the military played in much of his formative years as a young man.
The second poster describes Ray's life after his military service and time at college. Ray settles into his adult life and professional career while his very own family begins to grow. I wanted this poster to feel warm, inviting, and nostalgic in contrast to the first. It was a time that he and his kids will always look back at fondly, so capturing this feeling of the start of his family was important.
The third poster is contemporary and takes place during Ray's years of retirement. He is taking less of a role in the lives of his children but he is still surrounded by close family members. His children are beginning to have kids of their own, making the family more dynamic and complex, but it's in no way a bad thing. The brighter and more saturated colors reflect the bright future ahead for our family but keeping Ray as the subject reminds us that his journey was the one that made it all possible.
The final composition of the three posters was printed as a lenticular poster, to illustrate the progression of Ray's life as the viewer moves across the piece.
